William Walker Mann, known as "Willie" to friends and colleagues, husband of Claudette (Didul) Mann, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 21, 2006, at his home in Burbank, CA.

Born in Greenville, SC, on September 4, 1951, he was the son of Congressman James R. Mann and Virginia (Brunson) Mann.

A graduate of Greenville High School, he attended Presbyterian College and graduated from The University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Studio Art.

For the past 25 years, he worked in the film industry as a freelance film production grip. Two recent films he worked on were Million Dollar Baby and Flags of Our Fathers.

He was an avid musician, artist, and nature lover.

In addition to his wife and parents, William is survived by a sister, Virginia M. Camarda (Thomas M.) of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, James R. Mann Jr. and David B. Mann (Carol R.) of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Julie D. Dunne (Dennis) Dunne, of New York City; nieces, Marion Mann, Michele C. Willing, Cameron Dunne, and Kaitlin Dunne; and nephews, David Mann Jr., Ross Mann, Willie Mann, Thomas Camarda Jr., and Griffin Dunne.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service.
