DOYLE, WILLIAM UPTON, age 81, died June 28, 2000. He was born on April 30, 1919 in Vindalia, Illinois and was a veteran of WWII. He worked as an accountant at Lovemans and New Williams Department Stores. He was an active member of Bluff Park Methodist Church and attended the Roy Gilbert Fellowship Sunday School class until he became disabled. He was a former state treasurer for the Aid for Retarded Citizens, and was an active member of the Civitans and the Vulcan Fraternal Order of the Masonic Temple. He was pre-deceased by his son, James Upton Doyle, and his wife, Betty Rose Stegall Doyle. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 29, at 3:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home-Hoover, AL. Survivors are sons, Robert (Donna) and Brian (Diane); daughters, Mary Doyle and Susan Hulsey (Gary); grandchildren, Russ and Josh Doyle, and Timothy, Lauren, and Leslie Hulsey; and Joe Upton, of Clinton, Illinois who was raised by the Doyles. The family requests that all donations be made to the ARC of Blount County, P.O. Box 210, Oneonta, AL 35121, in lieu of flowers.
