Royalty. Born the daughter of Johann I and Christina of Saxony. She was married to Joachim I. von Brandenburg in 1502 and bore him five children. When she sympathized with the teachings of Luther her husband threatened her with prison. She publicly broke with Catholic Church, and her husband when she received the Protestant communion in 1527. In 1528 she fled to Torgau where her maternal uncle Johann lived. Her financial situation was dire as her husband did not grant her and allowance. It only improved when he died. She returned to Berlin and lived financially supported by her sons in Spandau.
