Kathleen Meccia, 72, of Peru, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Jan. 27, 2015, in La Salle County Nursing Home.
Private family services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Burgess Funeral Home, La Salle, with the Rev. Ronald Margherio, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth Cemtery, La Salle.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday in Burgess Funeral Home, La Salle.
She was born June 1, 1942, in Elmhurst to Robert and Eleanor (James) Brush. [She married first to John Edward Jones. She married second to Jerry Cronk, in Chicago, Illinois, in 1964. He was born February 11, 1943, Chicago, Illinois, and died in 1997, at Lake Elsinore, California.] She married [third] John Meccia in 1976.
She was the happiest as a homemaker, of all her jobs during her lifetime. Friends admired her sense of humor the most.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Ron) Steele of Madison, Wis., Ellen (Mark) Credi of Peru, Cara Ziegler of Peru and Ann Marie Rodrick of Temple, Texas; three grandsons and one granddaughter of Peru; one grandson and newborn granddaughter of Texas; and one brother, Jim, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Ann Marie of the Chicago area.
She was preceded in death by her parents several years ago; and one brother, Bobby Brush in 2013.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Bede Academy or Cops for Cancer.
