Mary Alice Pruett Lance, 72, of Edneyville passed away Tuesday, February 03, 2015 at Pardee Hospital.
Born October 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Willis Hall and Clara Woodrowe Stevens Pruett.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Kelly Pruett, who passed away in 2005.
She was a member of Fruitland Baptist Church. She had worked for the City of Asheville and was a professional knitter. She was a Carolina Tarheel fan and did volunteer work for the UNC athletic department. She had a passion for animals. She loved her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Gary Richard Lance; three children, Mark Richard Lance and his wife Joanna of Mebane, NC, Tracey Shannon Jenkins and her husband Kenny of Hendersonville, NC and Travis Willis Lance and his fiancee Amanda Reeves of Hickory, NC; five grandchildren, Ayla, Colin, Korbyn, Maggie and Michael; and one great grandchild Zaylan; three brothers, Charles Pruett and his wife Carol of Atlanta, GA, Patrick Michael Pruett and his wife Veronica of Marietta, GA, and Willis Pruett of Asheville, NC; two sisters Clara Israel and her husband Richard of Arden, NC and Sally Proffitt of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 07, 2015 at Fruitland Baptist Church at 2 pm with the Revs, Dr. Michael Smith and Jeffery Hudson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lanning- Pittillo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
