Obituary. Funeral services for Gustavus Franklin Swift, vice chairman of the board of Swift & Co., meat packers, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, University of Chicago. He died Thursday in his home at 1551 Astor Street. He was 62 years old. Mr. Swift entered the firm founded by his father when he was 17. Training in the operating department was followed by a transfer to the administrative department. Successively, he became vice president, president, and vice chairman. He leaves a widow, Marie; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Moore of Chicago, Mrs. Thomas Taylor and Mrs. Robert Spiel, both of Lake Forest, and a son, Gustavus Swift Jr., of Washington, D.C., besides three brothers, all identified with Swift & Co., and two sisters.
