Arnold J. Lais died November 18, 1987 at Osakis, Minnesota.
Arnold was born November 17, 1922 to Emil and Catherine (Didier) Lais at Lismore, MN. He married LuRae Sadlemyer in 1962. He ahd one son, James and a stepdaughter Julie. Arnold spent his youth in Lismore, MN and moved to Sauk centre in 1936. During World War II he worked for Kaiser Shipyards in California. After the war he returned to Osakis where he worked at the Gambles Store. In 1961 he moved to Minneapolis, MN where he worked for Minneapolis Moline and the Anoka School District until retirement. Arnold was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many happy hours fishing in local lakes and hunting local woods. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Left to mourn are son, James of Anoka and daughter, Julie Taylor also of Anoka; "Like a son" Leon Stoetzel of Osakis and 1 grandson, Clifton; brother, Myles Lais of Stanton, ND; sisters, Evelyn Sammons of Morro Bay, CA; Agnes Betts of Osakis; Leona Breitbarth of Lafayette, CA and Veronica Mesna of Osakis. Graveside Memorial Services were held at Calvary Cemetery in Osakis on Saturday, November 21, 1987 with Fr. Victor Kinzer officiating.
