Bart Alan Miller, 57, was born June 19, 1957, in Roswell, New Mexico, to parents Robert Barney & Vera Mae (Blair) Miller (they had moved to New Mexico from Tulsa, OK, to do seismographic work). He was the second son of four children.

For the first six months of Bart's life, his parents moved every six months, due to the nature of Robert's work. In 1963, they settled permanently in Oklahoma. They bought the house where Bart grew up in 1966. Bart graduated from high school in 1976.

The Miller family attended Village Baptist Church during its formative years. Bart was most recently a member of Britton Christian Church, where he was baptized, just this past year.

Bart was very much a nomad and was homeless by choice most of his adult life. He never stayed in one location very long, but did stay around Oklahoma City to be close to his parents' home.

Bart was engaged to be married a few times; however, he was never married. He also had many good friends, as he was a kind and loving soul. For the last 15 years or so, he had a very good friend in Glen "Bear" Baker. Bear took Bart under his wing and watched out for him, always helping him when he was in trouble or ill.

Bart had his vices-as we all do-and was a heavy drinker and smoker, which lead to his battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

He had many jobs in many different fields, but never stuck with any one in particular; they included: landscaping, fast food clerk, handyman, and, when he was young, Jones-Belew Drug Store in the family snack bar.

Bart was a very loving and caring person. He didn't ever have much, but what he had he would freely give to anyone in need; no questions asked. He had a salt-of-the-earth personality and will be greatly missed.

He passed away on February 10, 2015, from complications of COPD.
