The following was published in the Chisholm Tribune Press.
EDDY L. HAGGLUND, AMM2c
Eddy Leonard Hagglund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hagglund, 325 Third street northwest, was killed Jan. 26, 1944, in a midair collision during a formation join-up, resulting in the complete bisection of the plane in which he was flying. He remainded in the aft section of the bisected plane and crashed into a field about three miles west of the Naval auxiliary air station at Hoitvilla, Calif. He had entered the U. S. Navy air corps in June of 1942.
