Rev. Dr. O. J. Blackford was the son of Ira and Leah Melissa (Blake) Blackford, Sr. He was the husband of Elizabeth R. (Abel) Blackford. They were married December 15, 1897. Elizabeth died July 3, 1931. Rev. Dr. Blackford was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Detroit Conference 1890 F 1893 To Genesee (now Western New York) Conference by transfer 1909 To Michigan Conference by transfer 1917. At the time of his death he was serving Jackson: Haven Methodist Episcopal Church and was living 125 Seymour Street. He had served Gowanda, Cattaraugus Co., Ny 1909-1910 - Brockport, Monroe Co., NY - Bath, Steuben Co., NY.
