Birdie Marie Mills, 84, a homemaker and longtime Soledad resident, died on Wednesday at her home. Mrs. Mills was born in Minneapolis. She lived in Soledad for 61 years and enjoyed making ceramics, traveling in her trailer and watching sporting events. She is survived by two sons, John Jr. of Soledad and Wally of Greenfield. Her husband, John Sr., died in 1980. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Whitehurst Terry Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Solitude Church in Soledad. Burial will be in the Soledad Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Soledad Mission Memorial Fund.
