EDOUARD GAGNON, baptized at St. Cecile Church, Bic, Rimouski, Quebec, Canada 22 November 1852; died at 45 Salem St., Salem, Mass. 8 May 1912, age 59 yrs. 4 mos. 16 dys., due to “an internal injury resulting blow [kick] from horse hemorrhage and shock”. He married ca. 1877 (no record in Mass., in 1910 they had been married for thirty-three years), MARIE-AZILDA VERONICA BARON, born and bapt. at St. Denis Church, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec 6 May 1855; died at Farmington, N.H. 24 July 1939 at 11:55 a.m., age 85 yrs. 2 mos. 19 dys., due to general arteriosclerosis (5 yrs.) chronic myocarditis (3 mos.), and varicose ulcer. Edouard was buried 10 May 1912, and Azilda (aka) Exilda was buried 27 July 1939 at (Lot # 935 – Avenue 15 S) St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem, Mass. Azilda died at the home of her daughter Angelina (Gagnon) Townsend – Varnum (27), where she had lived for 6 yrs. Edward was a teamster. He was reported to have arrived in the United States in 1863, and so was his wife. Her godparents on her baptism were Andre’ Bourgeois and Domitille Martin. In 1910 they were living at 49 Congress St., (Ward 5) Salem, Mass.
