Otto Hammerschmidt, 59, Catherine, veteran heavy equipment operator employed by Ellis County, died Sunday afternoon at his home.
Survivors are his widow, Matilda, of the home; two sons, Adolph and Clarence, both of Hays; one daughter, Mrs. Al H. Rupp, Hays; two brothers, Servillan and Clemens, both of Victoria; a sister, Mrs. Peter P. Wasinger, Linn, Mo.; a half brother, Mike Brungardt, California; a half sister, Mrs. Anton Dreiling, Victoria; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:30am Wednesday in St. Catherine Catholic Church at Catherine. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at Brock's North Hill Chapel at Hays until the hour of the service.
