Art was the son of Milton H. and Phoebe Ann (Reichard) Bierly.

He was united in marriage to Lyda Ethel (Porter) Bierly on February 19, 1905, Eaton, Preble County, Ohio. To this union, 3 known children were born: Unknown Male Bierly, Mildred C. Bierly, and Gale Milton Bierly.

He died from Stomach Cancer and was interned on July 27, 1935.

Art Bierly, 53, died early Thursday morning at his farm home four miles west of Lewisburg on U.S. 41, following several months illness of cancer. Survivors include his widow; one son, Gale, at home; four brothers, Frank, of Eaton, Herbert of Crooksville, Cleve and Everett of Lewisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Dan House, of Lewisburg and Mrs. Charles Shields, of Columbus. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Lewisburg U.B. church, Rev. Earl Stockslager, officiating, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
