Mrs. Ann Richards, age 87 of Nashville, passed away on March 13, 2015.

Ann was born in Williamson County, Tennessee on January 10, 1928 to the late Gertis and Hattie Fisher. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Her family recalls that Ann was an ever-present mother. She was there for every sporting event, every major function, and always showed her immense pride and love for her family. She became a grandmother late in life; and she doted on her two grandchildren. Ann’s faith was very important to her and she was an active member of the Madison Church of Christ.

Ann worked for the State of Tennessee as a mail room associate for nearly 20 years. She was also active with Meals on Wheels. She was a great cook, too. Her son remembers her cornbread in particular. She also canned vegetables.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, Herman T. Richards, Sr.; and her brother, Horace Fisher.

She is survived by her children, Sandy Gomes (Bill), Herman “Tommy” Richards, Jr.; grandchildren, Lori Gomes, and Michael Gomes (Caitlinn.)

Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2pm. a Celebration of Life Service to honor Ann. Pastor Norman Slate presiding.

Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Ann’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Marie and Wanda, the caregivers at Home Instead, for the great kindness and care that they gave to Ann.

Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee.
