ARLETTA M. URBAN

Arletta M. Urban, age 88, formerly of N1271 Hwy. G, town of Franklin, Kewaunee Co., currently of 563 S. Main St., Mishicot, entered into eternal life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon May 11, 2010, at Shady Lane in Manitowoc after a brief illness.
Arletta was born April 8, 1922, in Green Bay, to the late Charles and Josephine DeGrand Bertrand and has been a longtime area resident. She married Joseph A. Urban Oct. 1, 1938, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Norman, and he preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1997. Arletta was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed weaving rugs, crafting bears and dolls, quilting, and embroidering. She was a former 4-H Leader in Kewaunee.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Johanna and Don Pelischek, of Mishicot; Barbara and John Clements, of Mississippi; Ann and Steve Dax, of Kewaunee; one son and two daughters-in law: Anton and Melody Urban, of Denmark; Darlene (Curt) Burch, of Crivitz; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three brothers: Linus Bertrand, of Algoma; Leonard (Ruth) Bertrand, of Kewaunee; Charles (JoAnn) Bertrand, of Luxemburg; two sisters: Geraldine (Joe) Tadysch, of Norman; Eva Unsinn, of Green Bay; a sister-in-law: Mayme Bertrand, of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son: John Urban; three brothers, two sisters, and by her brothers-in-law, and sisters-in law.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc, with Deacon Robert Pribek officiating, with entombment to follow in the mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a m. on Friday at the mausoleum until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
Arletta's family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, the Manitowoc Health Care Center, and Shady Lane for all the love, care, and concern shown to Arletta and our family during her illness. They would also like to thank Dr. Sue Kenney, of Green Bay, who gave her the gift of hearing, and give special thanks to two of Arletta's grandaughters, her care givers, Toni Lynn Sickels, and Nichol Kahlenberg, your love and care will always be remembered.
The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Urban family with funeral arrangements.
