Actor. He was an early television actor best remembered for his role as George Kerby paying opposite his real-life wife, Anne Jeffreys, in the 1953 to 1956 program "Topper." Considered a dexterous actor and noted for romantic roles, in 1941 he appeared in five films, among them the comedy "Two-Faced Woman" with Greta Garbo and "The Penalty" with Lionel Barrymore. His television and movie career includes over 75 credits from his first appearance dancing in the 1939 movie "Blondie Meets the Boss," a lead role in "Showboat" (1951), and his last appearance in a 1986 episode of "Murder, She Wrote."
