Karen Marie Mathias, 72, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, at home.
Born on March 17, 1941 in Amberg, WI to the late Francis and Mabel (Deun) Beattie.
On Aug. 20, 1956, she married Harold Mathias in Crown Point, Ind.
An avid homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren 's sporting events, gardening and golfing and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold, of Stephenson; a daughter, Lisa Mathias, of Dexter, Mi.; a son, Todd (Danita) Mathias, of Menominee; two grandchildren and three sisters, Jean Ylvisaker, Dorothy Whitaker and Debbie (Gary) Edwards.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Family called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Monday Dec. 2 after 4 p.m. until time of Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church celebrated by Father Ronald Timock with burial in Stephenson Township Cemetery
