IRMO M. Douglas “Doug” Middleton, 58, of Irmo, South Carolina, went to his heavenly home on April 7, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. Visitation will be held from 10:30 until noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Mark’s Episcopal Churchyard, Pinewood, S.C. at 3:00 p.m. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Kay Herrington Middleton; children, Bonnie Lisa Lindsey (William), Justin Bradley (Lorena), and his baby girl, Amanda Renee; grandchildren, Liam and Bryce Lindsey; mother, Mary Rickenbaker Middleton; sisters, Glynda Marcus (Eric), Liz Marr (Corbin); nephews, Carson Marr, Glynn Marcus; and many other family members. He was predeceased by his father, Glynn Ernest Middleton. Doug was a sales representative for Ferguson Enterprises for many years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, boating, and his beloved dog, Poe; but his greatest pleasure was enjoying time with his family.
