US Congressman. Born in Daleville, Pennsylvania, he served in a Pennsylvania Militia unit during the Civil War. He spent many years as a prominent Scranton, Pennsylvania businessman and merchant before being elected as a Republican to represent Pennsylvania's 10th District in the United States House of Representatives. He served a single term from 1905 to 1907, and lost a re-election bid in 1906 to Congressman Thomas D. Nicholls. He spent his remaining years as President of the Anthracite Trust Company, and passed away in 1912 in the town of his birth.
