"Lorenzo E. Steele passed away at his home at East Springfield on Monday evening, September 25th. He was born in that town fifty-eight years ago and had lived there all his life following the occupation of farming until a few years ago when he retired from active life. He was a man held in the highest esteem by all with whom he came in contact and a wide circle of friends will feel a deep sense of personal loss in his passing. He is survived by two daughters, the Misses Catherine Steele of Cooperstown and Florence, at home; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Brown and Miss Cora Bridger of East Springfield, Mrs. Samuel Bridger and Mrs. George Wadagnolo of Cooperstown. The funeral was held at his late home on Thursday of last week, the Rev. E. E. Benson officiating, and burial was made in the cemetery at Springfield Center."
