Ulysses Dean Pero was my husband's father. For some reason it is difficult to find him in historical records. His Social Security Death record says his father was Fred Pero and his mother was Mary Walker.
I do know that he was in the Navy. He married my husband's mother Tasceaie Carise Jackson in 1946. My husband James Dean Pero was born in 1947 and their daughter Garthia was born in 1949.
The marriage didn't last. Tasceaie moved to California with her children to be near her mother who was working as a domestic in the Los Angeles area.
Ulysses did marry again to a lady named Jerry O. I don't know her family name.
For years my husband and his sister didn't know their father and hadn't seen him since they were little. Garthia found him and he came out to visit and meet his kids and grandkids.
In later years he suffered from Dementia. He died in 1995.
