Mrs. Eliza D. Sneed, wife of the late Colonel William H. Sneed, died on the Sabbath, September 7th at 12 am, after an illness of nine weeks. She was the daughter of Dr. Alexander and Catherine D. Williams, and was born in Greeneville. She was united in marriage to Col. William H. Sneed on the 13th of April 1843, and in the winter of 1844 or spring of 1845 she removed with her husband to this city where she resided until her death, with the exception of a few years during the war. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom, as well as her husband, preceded her to the spirit land, and four remain to weep her grave.
