Thomas J. Durica was born in Slovakia (former Czechoslovakia)on March 8, 1898. He married Frances Anna Vassak, his wife of 70 years, in June 1919 before arriving in the United States as an immigrant in the early 1920s. He was a trustee of St Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church for many years. Thomas and Frances had two sons: Joseph A. and Thomas Durica, and a daughter Mary Frances Durica (m. Winfield). They had 8 grandchildren: Joanne Durica, Andrea Durica, David Stuart Durica, Meryl Durica, Jon Durica, Mary B. Winfield, Thomas Francis Winfield and James Winfield.
