William E. Lape was born Oct. 29, 1898 in Covington, Indiana to Albert J. and Birtie M. (McGeehon) Lape. He married Goldie V. Lamar in 1927. They resided in the Hammond, Indiana area and later in rural Attica, Indiana. Goldie passed away Dec. 16, 1967.
Bill became an Indiana representative for the Jones-Laughlin Steel Corp.(Chicago,Illinois) and was a specialist in stainless steel. He retired in 1962.
His hobby was painting, and he did may paintings of historical and scenic places in Fountain County, Indiana.
