Theo E. Puckett, 73, died Sunday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Puckett, who was born in Clincheo, Va., moved to Muncie in 1952. He was a materials handler at Borg-Warner Automotive for 25 years before he retired. He was an Air Force veteran of the South Pacific during World War II. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation ribbon with the Bronze Star, Asiatic Campaign ribbon with two Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and a World War Ii Victory Medal. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union 287 and the Warner Gear Sympathy Club.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Puckett; two sons, Edward Puckett (wife-Sandi), Springport, and Barry Puckett (wife-Gincie), Muncie; a daughter, Carol McDonald (husband-Danny), Muncie; two sisters, Lillian Halsted, Vermillion, Ohio, and Garnet Mullins, Clintwood, Va.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 3 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.
