He served as Rav in several cities in Hungary. In 1931 he became Rav of Tzehlem, Austria. In 1938 he went to Vienna. In 1939 he arrived in the US and settled in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He founded the Arugas Habosem kehillah and yeshivah as well as a summer camp and matzah factory. He upgraded the standards of kashrus; pioneered the commercial production of chalav Yisrael products and oversaw the production of Kedem wine; upgraded the processing of Glatt kosher meat; and kosher oil.
