Albert Sidney Perry Sr was born on December 29, 1871 in Robertson County, Tennessee, and he was the son of William Henry Perry (1839–1914) and Julina Julia (Fyke) Perry (1849–1918). {According to the Death Certificate for Julina, when she died in 1918 in Nashville, she was buried somewhere in Springfield, Tennessee.}

Born and raised near Cedar Hill in Robertson County, he attended old Buena Vista School in North Nashville.

Albert was married 1st in 1898 to Nancy "Daisy" Nash (1876-1916), and she was the daughter of William P Nash (1844–1908) and Martha E "Mattie" (Green) Nash (1842–1908). In the 1920 census he was a widower with his 12-year-old son Albert Jr, and they were in the household of R Warren Horn and his wife Flora (Perry) Horn. Then by the time of the 1930 census Albert was married to his 2nd wife Millie Brown.

A long-time member of Grace Avenue Church of Christ, Albert owned and operated a barber shop for many years. Then, for some years he was employed at Nashville Terminals as an engine inspector, before settling into being a cabinet maker for Miller Manufacturing Company. Living at 1023 Stainback Avenue, Nashville, he was 69 years old and married when he died of cardiac failure on December 6, 1941 at Nashville's Protestant Hospital where he had been for five days.

Survivors included his widow Millie (Brown) Perry, sons Albert S Perry Jr and Maurice N Perry and his brother John Perry and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on December 8th at Grace Avenue Church of Christ, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison.
