Kathleen Helen Thompson Breland, 79, of Mobile entered into rest this past Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Interment will follow at The Catholic Cemetery of Mobile. Rev. James Cink will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile.
Mrs. Breland was a native of Atlanta, GA and a longtime member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Patrick Thompson and Kathleen Quinn Harrison, her husband, Leigh Breland, a son Patrick Murray Breland, a grandchild, Edward Smith, a brother, Patrick Thompson, and two sisters, Sr. Adelaide “Elizabeth” Thompson O.S.B. and Marian Evesque.
She is survived by six children, Carol Breland of Chapel Hill, NC, Alan Breland of Mobile, Stevan Breland (Kristin) of Stapleton, Keith Breland (Gina) of Gulfport, MS, Joseph Breland (Kelly) of Milton, FL, and Daniel Breland (Melissa) of Pelham, AL, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. The family extends a special thanks to the caregivers who have provided exceptional loving care and comfort to Mrs. Breland over the past several years: Andrea Robinson, Giovanna Cate, Star Kelly, Patsy Pennington, Sue Cook, and Stephanie Irby.
