Osmun Claiborne was born January 1, 1811 at "Soldiers Retreat," Adams County, Miss. and died there January 24, 1845.
He married May 31, 1832 at Port Gibson, Miss, Mary Patterson (she married 2nd Mr. Stanford). Two children, F.O.Claiborne & C.S. Claiborne.
He was appointed a midshipman in the United States Navy,
May 19, 1829 and served until June 21, 1832 when he resigned.
