Salvatore Bologna, born November 13th 1942, passed away on September 27th in his home due to a heart attack. Sal was the son of Italian immigrants, Antonino and Lorenza Bologna and the brother of the late Joseph and Chester Bologna. Sal attended Balboa High School where he graduated in 1960 and excelled in Track and Field. Shortly after graduating, he met and fell in love with Gale Stevens and they were married in 1965 at Saints Peter and Paul church in San Francisco's North Beach District. Sal then went to work for Safeway Stores for 40 years. During that time , Sal and Gale raised two children. Sal was a dedicated family man and always put his wife and children first. Later in life, Sal and Gale traveled throughout the United States and Europe. Sal's favorite places were Washington D.C. and London, England. Sal enjoyed reading and working on computers, but like his wife Gale, spending time with his family was most important. Sal and Gale were married for almost 45 years but Gale passed away in December of last year. Sal's dedication and love for his wife, children and grandchildren was immeasurable. Sal was a kind and lighthearted man and will be deeply missed. Sal is survived by his beloved children and his beautiful granddaughters, who he adored. Visitation will be held a Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. Daly City, (Tuesday, October 4th) from 4-7 PM followed by a Vigil Service at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine Church 1310 Bayswater Ave. Burlingame (Wednesday, October 5th) at 10:00 am. Committal Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 (San Mateo/Halfmoonbay).
