Donald E. Ness, 73, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Anna R. (Kaltreider) Ness, with whom he celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary this past year. Funeral Friday at Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock, Rev. Mark Hopkins officiating. Burial in Marburg Memorial Gardens with military rites by Hanover Allied Veteran Honor Guard. Mr. Ness was born May 6, 1933, in Manchester Twp., a son of the late Spurgeon A. and Katie I. (Stine) Ness. Mr. Ness was retired as a heavy equipment operator with County Line Quarries. Prior to that, he was a long-time employee of the former Cole Steel. He was also employed by the former Pfaltzgraff Company and the former J.W. Kerchner Inc. Mr. Ness was a member of New Freedom Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He also leaves three sons, Leslie A. "Les" Ness and his wife, Trudy of Railroad, Bryan L. Ness and his wife, Kimberly of Shrewsbury, and Keith E. Ness and his wife, Vicki of Dover; five daughters, Carolyn A. Amspacher and her husband, Frank of Glen Rock, Rebecca L. Thoman and her husband, Jack of Railroad, Cheryl J. Ness and Lori E. Ness, both of York, and Kimberly S. Deisinger and her husband, Jeff of York; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Grace Beck of Schwenksville, Treva Bond of Red Lion, Doris Ratliff of Kernersville, NC, Donna Mae Ness of Littlestown, and Jean Raffensberger of New Freedom; and six brothers, Leroy Ness of Chesterfield, MI, Norman Ness of Dover, Paul Ness of Middletown, Ray Ness of Aspers, and Barry Ness and Glenn Ness, both of Glen Rock.
