Betty Jean Powell King, 51, of Brooklet, died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at her home.

Born February 4, 1964, she was a daughter of John W. Powell and the late Eleanor Rosalie Baughman Powell. Betty Jean was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and were her heart and soul. Her family will miss her greatly.

Surviving are her husband, Timothy Avant King; daughters, Lee Michelle Dicus of Brooklet, Samantha A. Neumans of Pembroke and Jessica Cabrera-Couch of Brooklet; her father and step-mother, Michele, of Savannah; sisters, Deborah Watkins of Bloomingdale and Ilona Baldwin of Summerville, S.C.; brothers, Emerson Baldwin of Green Pond, S. C. and John W. Powell of Augusta, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 noon Friday at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Assistant Pastor Peter Whitney. Interment will be private.
