He is survived by two grandchildren: Mrs. Mark (Lois Ann) Keith, Dover, and Charles Bard. Omaha, Neb. A number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews also survive. He was preceded in death by two daughters; Anna "Trinky" Halk and Lois Bard; two brothers, Richard Klingler and William Klingler, and a sister, Rebecca Grove.
Mr. Klingler was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Union, where he had taught Sunday School at one time. He was a member of the Herman Smith Sunday School Class, with the distinction of having 62 years of perfect attendance. He had been a member of the Mount Union Lions Club, the Mount Union Historical Society and the Huntingdon County Democratic Club. He had also been a volunteer for the Salvation Army. He was a 1923 graduate of Mount Union High School. At one time, he was an agent for Harteysville Insurance Company. He was well-known as owner and operator of Klingler's Store for many years. Most recently, he retired as a state auditor He served two terms as Huntingdon County Commissioner and also served two terms as mayor of Mount Union.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, with the Rev. Robert Davidson officiating.
