Mrs Esther Ralph Freed By Death
Sonora Pioneer Who Had suffered Fourteen Years Rests at Last
Sonora, Jan 13- The remains of Mrs Esther Ann Ralph arrived from Stockton on Friday evening's train and was largely attended by sincere friends. The body was laid to rest in the family plot by the side of her beloved husband in the Independent Order of odd Fellows cemetery. The deceased,being a pioneer of California, members of the Order of Native Daughters attended as a mark of respect. Mrs Ralph, who lived a life of seventy-five years, came from Maine to the county in 1854 where with her husband she made a home near Sonora and reared a family of five sons, all of whom are highly respected residents of this county. Frank J being a prominent business man and school trustee of Sonora. She was a woman of high attributes, a loyal wife and devoted mother, but sickness came to her fourteen years ago and in all the time since then she had been a sufferer till death came to release her. Sympathy is extended to the sons, Frank J, Charles a, Galo R, Walter and Orrin Ralph, though those who loved her best must feel that she is at rest and free from earthly pain.
