Enlisted on 3/20/1864 at Louisville, KY, as a private. On 4/14/1864 he mustered into Co. B, 12th Kentucky Infantry. He was discharged on 5/30/1865 at Albany, NY.

John "GIBSON & Susan MORGAN, marriage bond 5 March 1866; Both of age, Gibson sworn. Gent age 21 and KY born; Lady 22 and born in Larue Co., KY; married 6 March 1866 at Susan Morgan's in presence of John Redman by R. M. Enlows."
--Larue Co., KY Marriage Records 1843-1876.Pg. 52.

John Gipson divorced Susan Gollaher Morgan Gipson in 1901. It appears he married Martha Ellen Gipson on June 21, 1901. From what I understand their marriage bond was March 22, 1901, but this was not actually the date of the marriage.
According to one source, John died in 1912 and Martha Ellen died in February of 1913. The 1910 census had a Victoria that was a daughter living with them but it seems she was Martha's daughter from a previous marriage. John and Martha were married in LaRue County and both had been divorced.
