Betty R. (Murphy) Hanover, 77, Webb City, died 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 at a local hospital following a one-year illness. She was born Dec. 7, 1926 in West Lebanon, Indiana. She married George E. Hanover on April 1, 1946. She moved to Webb City in 1978 from Ontario, Calif. She worked for the former Elder Mfg. Co. in Webb City and later operated the Owl Bar in Webb City prior to retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Hanover, California, James Hanover, Quapaw, Okla.; three daughters, Sherry Horton, Fontana, Calif., Adina Steiner, Carterville, Mo. and Karen Wallace, Chickasha, Okla.; one brother, Danny Murphy, Crawfordsville, Ind.; two sisters, Martha Byers, West Lebanon, Indiana and Peggy Hobson, Williamsport, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters Susan and Georganna, and one son, Theodore.

Betty was cremated and buried with her husband in West Lebanon, IN.
