Vance, Marie - Houston – Marie Allen Vance, 75, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born September 20, 1939 in Chickasaw County to John Harvey Allen and Lera Mae Gann Allen. She was a retired seamstress for Seminole Manufacturing and a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Lampkin and Rev. Mark Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Houston. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include: her daughter, Gayle (Mike) Malone of Nettleton; grandchildren, Amber Michelle Jenkins and Melissa Ann Tanksley; great-grandchildren, Zoe Wright, Cash Christian, Aaron Tanksley, Andrew Tanksley, and Alavia Tanksley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, R.E. Vance on May 16, 2014; brothers, Oscar Allen, Elkin Allen, Marion Allen, and Wilburn Allen. Pallbearers are: Mike Malone, Thomas E. Allen, Craig Williams, John Lancaster, Jerry McClain and Johnny Linley. Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home.
