***Madeline Carnahan was disenturned and cremated on 27 Sept 2017 from Holly Cross Cemetery, CA. On 8 June 2018 she was laid to rest in St Dennis Cemetery by her surviving children, Leo Carnahan, Anna (Carnahan) Brown, Michael Carnahan, David Carnahan, Madeline (Carnahan) Wilson, Steven Carnahan, and Dennis Carnahan in Lexington, MI. She was buried with her mother, Alvina M (Lesperance) Pemberton***

Mrs. Leo Carnahan obituary Times Herald, Port Huron, Michigan, 20 November 1961, page 7 Mrs. Madeline Carnahan, 50, wife of Leo Carnahan, a former Lakeport resident 20 years, died Saturday in Torrance, Calif. She was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Mt. Clemens. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Brown, New London, Ia., Rita Carnahan and Madeline Carnahan, both of Torrance; seven sons, Leo Carnahan Jr., Torrance, Sgt. Roger Carnahan, San Pedro, Calif., and Michael, David, Charles, Stephen, and Dennis Carnahan, all of Torrance; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Lovell Pemberton, Port Huron; and three sisters, Mrs. Darcy M. VanBuskirk, Port Huron, Mrs. Truman Rowley, Croswell, and Mrs. Arnold Distelrath, St Clair. The remains will be brought to Port Huron, but funeral arrangements are incomplete. In April 1952, the Carnahan family lost two sons in a fire which leveled their Lakeport home. Timothy, 1, died in the blaze, and Patrick, 11 died of burns eight days later. All members of the family, excepting David, then 3, were treated at Port Huron Hospital, where the parents and five of the children were hospitalized. Lakeport Lions and firemen sparked a fund campaign and work bee to help restore the burned out family in a home. The family moved to California in 1959.
