Roy H. Barber, 86, related to families in Richland County, such as Kinkades, died early Wednesday at the Red Hills Nursing Home in Sumner.
He was the father of William L. Barber of New Orleans, formerly of Olney.
A Lawrence County resident for over 60 years, he was a retired employee of the Marathon Oil Company and was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church. His wife, Helen Gould Barber, died in 1926, and two children also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Madding of Lawrenceville with whom he made his home for many years, and Mrs. Mary B. Myrick of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sons, John R. Barber of Arlington, Va., R. C. Barber of Leesburg, Fla., and William L. Barber of New Orleans, La.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
