Grace Menninger
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hope Abbey for Mrs. Grace Gaines Menninger, 85, of 4712 W. 6th, who died Saturday in a local hospital.
Entombment will be in Mount Hope Abbey.
She was born in Chapman. She attended Washburn University and was a member of Alpha Phi sorority there. She spent most of her life in Topeka and worked many years for the State Historical Society. She also worked as a librarian for the Topeka Public Library.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Knife and Fork Club and a life-time member of the Woman's Club.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Menninger, Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. Julia M. Gottesman, Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Martha Nichols, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Robert MacPherson, Stuart, Fla., and nine grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Public Library book fund to purchase large print books.
Mrs. Menninger will lie in state until noon Tuesday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Mortuary.
