Obituary
James S. Anderson and family desire to express their sincere thanks to the many kind friends and neighbors in their recent sorrow.

Mrs. Eliza Ellen Anderson was born in Indiana, Feb. 28, 1842, and died in Winfield, Kas., Sept. 3, 1905, age 63 years, 6 months and 5 days. Her maiden name was Doughty. She was married to James Anderson, Feb. 20, 1861.

To them were born 5 children, one son, Dumont Anderson, who resides in Tacoma, Wash.; and four daughters, Mrs. Edmund Bourke, of Austin, Tex.; Mrs. Wm. M. Bronson, of Guthrie, Okla.; Mrs. Frank Strong, of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Wm. Whitford, of Copenhagen, N.Y.

In 1878, the family moved to Kansas and settled in Winfield where our sister has made her home until called, yesterday afternoon to the house of rest made with hands eternal in the heavens.

In childhood Sister Anderson accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Presbyterian church. After her marriage she, with her husband, joined the Methodist church of which she continued a faithful member until called to the church triumphant.

Hers, was a beautiful christian character. In the home, in society,in the church, in all the relations of life she lived the religion she professed, constantly manifesting all the graces of well rounded christian character until the Master said, "It is enough, come up higher." Obeying the summons she has gone to dwell with her Lord.

The funeral was conducted from the family residence, 116 Riverside avenue, by Rev. L.E. Simes, pastor of Grace M.E. Church.
