She was featured in a number of Nazi propoganda films, as well as a number of magazine covers. She was murdered by her mother, who injected her with morphine before murdering her and her siblings with cynanide. Her parents and Hitler commited suicide shortly after because her mother wanted her children to die along with the Nazi party. She was twelve years old.

The ashes were scattered in 1970 in the river Ehle near Biederitz (Saxony-Anhalt) by Russian first lieutenant Gumenjuk.
