Shirley L. Kelley, 83, died peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015.

She was born May 9, 1932, in Jamestown Township, Steuben County to Ralph L. and Nettie E. (Rakestraw) Harding.

She attended the one-room Collins School for five years and Fremont schools, graduating as salutatorian from Fremont High School in 1950.

On April 18, 1952, at the Methodist Church in Fremont, she married Harry W. Kelley, who preceded her in death on July 17, 2011.

Mrs. Kelley enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sports and activities and was their number one supporter.

She was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church and its Susanna Wesley Circle for 50 years. Other clubs were Carpe Deim and the Ashley O.E.S. She also served as District Deputy for O.E.S.

Her hobbies included playing bridge, watching college basketball (especially IU), and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers since childhood. She loved her flower gardens and birds.

She is survived by daughter Karen L. (John) Ulmer of Camas, Washington and son Steven C. (Beth) Kelley of Auburn, Indiana, and son-in-law Scott Poor of Angola, Indiana; 8 grandchildren Tyler (Ann) Poor, Kyle Poor, Eamon Poor and Courtney (Austin) Conrad all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Lauren (Luke) Hofmeyer and Nicholas Kelley of Auburn, Indiana; Ian Ulmer and Lucas Ulmer of Camas, Washington. Three great-grandchildren are Ava and Maddox Poor of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Coby Hofmeyer of Auburn, Indiana. Her brother Richard (Cecilia) Harding lives in California.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry W. Kelley, her daughter Denise Sue (Kelley) Poor on January 17, 2014 and her brother Blaine Harding.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Weicht Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Terrell officiating.

Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

Memorials may be made in Shirley's memory to the Steuben County Community Foundation for the Harry W. Kelley Scholarship Fund or the Susie Poor Scholarship Fund.
