Major League Baseball Player. Born in Tucson, Arizona, Walter enlisted in the US Air Force at age 22 and was sent to serve overseas in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on August 27th, 1952 and just 10 days later, he was a right-handed pitcher making his debut for the Philadelphia Athletics on September 6, 1952. Playing for two seasons mostly in long relief with the Philadelphia Athletics (1952-53), he ended his career with a record of 7 innings pitched, 6 strikeouts, 1 save and a 6.43 earned run average. He died at age 77 in Tucson, Arizona.
