GLADWIN - Dorothy Jacobs of Clare, formerly of Cadillac, died Monday, April 26, 2004 at Tender Care Nursing Home in Clare. She was 91.

She was born on Aug. 20, 1912 in Sandusky to George and Anna (Bubel) Dafoe. She married Floyd Spencer on June 13, 1932 in Sandusky. He preceded her in death in 1969. She then married Vernon Jacobs and he preceded her in death in 1987.

Mrs. Jacobs was a homemaker and a teacher. She had taught at Memphis Elementary School and Port Sanilac Community Schools. She was a member of Ross Memorial Bible Church in Port Huron and had been a resident of Clare County for the past two years.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (Neil) Sergent of Cadillac; sons, Dave (Anna) Spencer of Gladwin and Robert (Judy) Spencer of San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister, Donna Andrews of Grand Blanc.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and her daughter, Lola Anderson.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron. Arrangements were made by Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin.
