James Clayton is the son of James B.
and Safrona Bockey Walker. He married Alta Culver abt. 1911 and Verl Clayton and Stanley Ray Walker, were born of their union. He and Alta seperated when the boys were young. Later in life he married Bessie Mae Cook. She had a daughter from a previous marriage named Hester. James Clayton went by the nickname Clate, and worked most of his life and retired in the oil fields.

James Clayton Walker, 74 retired oil worker, died Thursday afternoon in his home on the Mungen Road, near Rudolph. He had been ill one year.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Walker (Safrona Bockey), he was born on Nov 28, 1889, east of Mermill.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie; a daughter, Mrs. Hester Francisco, Hammansburg; two sons, Verl Clayton and Stanley Ray Walker, both of Payson, Ariz; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Mitchell, Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Blaine. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home tonight. The funeral was in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. Richard Gottier officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
