GIBLER (PIPP) - The funeral service for Dorothy Jean Gibler (nee Pipp) will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 432 W. Park St., Arlington Heights, IL. Interment will be private, at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

Born July 30, 1924 in New York, NY, she passed away April 8 at Alden Poplar Creek Rehabilitation Center in Hoffman Estates, IL.

Dorothy spent much of her young life in Grand Rapids MI where her family moved when her father retired from the New York Yankees baseball team.

She met her husband, Bill right after his Naval service in WW II ended. They settled in Arlington Heights, IL. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker and mother of five children.

She also worked as a part time bookkeeper for Bill's Standard Oil station. Before retiring at the age of 74, she worked as an Administrative assistant to her brother Tom, helping him launch a very successful business back in Grand Rapids.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late William Karl Gibler.

She is survived by her children, Michael W. (Denise) Gibler, Timothy J. Gibler, Noralee M. (Stephen) Mack, William K. (Shari) Gibler, David P. Gibler and former daughter-in-law, Dierdre Gibler; her 7 grandchildren; and her brother, Thomas Pipp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora and Walter Pipp; her husband, William K. Gibler; and two brothers, Ben Pipp and Walter Pipp Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Family Centered Hospice 2171 Executive Dr. Suite 450 Addison, IL 60101.
