Lived in Pine Log, Georgia.
In the 1850 census, he lived in Cass County, Georgia, now Bartow County, Georgia.

He also lived in Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia, about 3 miles from New Echota, once the Capital of the Cherokee Nation, now a historical site in Georgia.

Married Jane Hyde (name as recorded on Georgia marriage document) 18 Dec 1845 in Gilmer County, Georgia, as stated on his marriage record. Jane's actual maiden name is believed to be Hyce or Hice.

Listed as Alva Maulden on this marriage record. Some of the Maulden men's names were modified over time.

From the history of Gilmer County, Georgia, it was formed from the Old Cherokee Nation East in 1832 and some land still belonged to the Cherokee. Ellijay is an OLD historical county seat and some of the mixed blood Cherokee people remained on what was now their small farm land.

Pine Log (Bartow County), Georgia, was also part of the Cherokee Nation at that time. This is now Rydal (Bartow County), Georgia.

It once had a missionary school for the Cherokee children and they ministered to them.

This location was once a Cherokee community and was in the Georgia Cherokee Nation before 1838, when the Cherokee people were removed and relocated to Indian Territory West in Oklahoma. The church has a history from early Methodism.

NOTE: His grandfather, Rucker Maulden, was a Methodist minister of early Methodism of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

He was a carpenter.

Brother to John W. Maulden.
