She graduated from Hart High School with the Class of 1941 and worked as a clerk/typist at a local insurance office until enlisting in the United States Army (Women's Division) in early 1944. Marian served on a base near El Paso, Texas until November 1945 when she then returned to Hart and met and married William L. Leemhuis on May 3, 1947. They lived in Hart and raised four children there.
She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, and also loved reading very much.
Marian is survived by one daughter, Jane Ellen Leemhuis of Hart; three sons, Carl William Leemhuis of Hart, Donald R. Leemhuis of Omaha, NE, and David A. Leemhuis of Muskegon; two sisters, Judy (Jerry) Kasza of Milwaukee, WI, and Carol (Paul) Comisarow of Winchester, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Leemhuis; and one sister, Kathryn Jackson.
There was a private graveside service.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart Area Public Library, Hart, MI or to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility, Hart, MI.
